Click here to found out how I finally got pregnant! Well, if you guys have been keeping up with my blog then you know that me and my husband have tried multiple techniques to try to get pregnant, however nothing had worked up until I stumbled upon a whole new way of going about trying to get pregnant.  This was a holistic pregnancy technique that totally changed the way I looked at modern medicine.  In this alternative treatment technique, diet and lifestyle changes are given a lot of importance. Regular intake of such things that contain caffeine like coffee, chocolate, cocoa, green tea (containing caffeine), black tea and colored soft drinks which has harmful effects on conception is discouraged.  Did you know according to a study, one and a half cup of coffee for a woman who is trying to get pregnant is sure to delay her conception. Thus coffee is a strictly a no-no for patients suffering from infertility (I drank at least 3 cups of coffee a day).

The best result for the treatment of infertility has been reported through the use of Chinese medicines, acupuncture and of course, the holistic approach. The holistic approach reaches to the depth of the problem and only then delivers physical, spiritual as well as emotional treatment, rather than only investigating the organs (something Jason and I were only focusing on). On the other side, the conventional approach to the problem of infertility fails to successfully detect and remove the real causes and moreover, causes side effects. The holistic approach suggests a natural remedy and a way of life that can really solve the problem as soon as the real cause is determined.  I am so glad that Jason and I finally got pregnant and we definitely owe it all to the information we found in the pregnancy miracle literature.  I would suggest checking this website out if you are having issues trying to get pregnant.  If it worked for us, it will definitely work for you and your husband.

Possible Intfertility Treatments – Medicine

In addition to going back to trying the “old fashion way” of trying to get pregnant our next doctor suggested we start utilizing medicine to aid in ovulation and increase our chances of getting pregnant.   Ovulation is when the ovary makes and releases an egg (ovum).  Ovulation should occur about once a month in women up until menopause.  For various reasons, ovulation may not occur at all, or it may occur less often than normal.  I started to take Clomifene at first which always gave me headaches, therefore I switched to gonadotrophin shots.  I stayed on these shots for about a year, while we would try to get pregnant, until Jason and I finally conceived!  However, I believe it wasn’t just the gonadotrophin shots that allowed us to conceive.  In the next post I will describe what other techniques we utilized in addition to the shots that finally allowed us to get pregnant with beautiful Abigale.

Possible Intfertility Treatments – Surgical

Since Jason and I were unable to specifically determine why we were not getting pregnant (trust me we would try to get pregnant alot) we did not look into surgical options.  However, the situations where surgery may be an option to get pregnant include:

Fallopian tube problems – Surgery to the fallopian tubes may help some women with infertility caused by fallopian tube problems.
Endometriosis – Surgery may help to improve fertility in women with endometriosis.
Polycystic ovary syndrome – A special operation on the ovaries may be suitable for some women with polycystic ovary syndrome.
Fibroids – For women with fibroids, sometimes surgery to remove the fibroid may be considered if there is no other explanation for the infertility. However, whether fibroids do cause infertility, and therefore whether they should be removed, is still uncertain.
Male infertility – One cause of infertility is due to sperm being blocked by an abnormality in the epididymis in the testis. This may be treated with surgery.

Possible Infertility Treatments – Assisted Conception

Jason and I did not resort to assisted conception until after two years of trying to get pregnant naturally.  We had already seen a couple of doctors and they had suggested that we should have gotten pregnant within two years of trying naturally.  The doctor we chose to work with first suggested we try intrauterine insemination (IUI) to try to get pregnant.  However, the IUI treatment did not result in pregnancy which was devastating.  Therefore, we then tried gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT) to get pregnant.  However, again this treatment did not work and we were at a loss.  Our marriage really suffered during this time.  Our insurance did not cover these two treatments and we were so far in debt we could not afford any other type of assisted conception treatment to get pregnant.  Therefore, we were forced to return to natural conception techniques (sex)….which by the way brought us closer together and probably saved our marriage.  Possible assisted conception methods used to try to get pregnant include:

Intrauterine insemination (IUI)
In-vitro fertilization (IVF)
Gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT)
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)

When you can not get pregnant but want to try to get pregnant then you should be aware of your options.  These try to get pregnant fertility treatments can be grouped into three categories:

- Surgical treatments – these may be used when a cause of the infertility is found that may be helped by an operation.
- Assisted conception – this includes several techniques such as intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilisation (IVF), gamete intrafallopian transfer (GIFT), and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
-Medicines to improve fertility – these are sometimes used alone, but can also be used in addition to assisted conception.

I will break these categories up into different posts.

Try To Get Pregnant – Hello and Introduction

If you are reading this blog then you and your significant other are probably having problems getting pregnant, want to get pregnant, or are just curious about pregnancy.  This blog was created to help women try to get pregnant.  If you are just interested in possible ways to get pregnant such as traditional intercourse, in-vitro fertilization, or even holistic pregnancy methods then this blog is for you.

When Jason and I were married over five years ago we knew we wanted to have children.  We had both just graduated from college and had great paying jobs so we were financially stable.  We were both ready for that commitment but we did not know that the next four years we would try about every method there is in order to become pregnant.  We saw over 20 different doctors and they could not figure out why we could not get pregnant.  Jason’s sperm count was very high and we believed that it might have something to do with my reproductive system.  Whatever the cause we were infertile and it was devastating.  All the doctors found this quite odd since the age group that has the best chance for ovulation is late teens and early twenties.

We were told that there were a number of medical conditions that can cause infertility in women; these include cervical conditions that are brought on by diseases and infections. Scar tissue and fallopian tubes that are blocked can also cause infertility in women. Fibroids are tumors in the uterus that can cause infertility in a woman as well.  However, none of those conditions applied to our situation.

In the upcoming posts I will detail different techniques and methods Jason and I used that did not work and the one method that finally did work!  So stay tuned…..

In the mean time checkout this video that details the possible causes of infertility.
